The 22nd SIGGRAPH meeting will open at the 6 August 1995 and will end at the
11 at Convention Center, Los Angeles, California.
I, and the BUGSS (Bordeaux User Group) chairman will come from France
(just a 14 hours and 11000 kilometer trip) to see the event and
help the "kids" from Saint Malo in the "Merlin Project".
The BUGSS is actually one of the greatest Amiga and Lightwave
User Group in France. It is well-known here, mainly due to its PD production
and for organizing its own computer graphics event : the "Forum of
Simulation and Computer Graphics" in Bordeaux.
I think the SIGGRAPH is a VERY good opportunity to meet other
Lightwave users (for example : YOU!). And to have a tour of some
studios using LW and the Toaster.
This can be done in very different ways:
First: we can simply meet you during a conference, a meal,
or other event...
Second: we can share the depense for the SIGGRAPH week.
Thus mininize the cost of a week in L.A.. For example:
taking an hotel's bedroom for many persons, share the cost of a
car rent, etc... This is a very cool way, because we can have a lot
of contact, not only around computer, but also in "real" life.
Third: someone (may-be you...) could accomodate us (two persons).
It would be very coooool. We really love meeting other LW
users, speaking about artwork, discovering how he (or she) work,
etc... It is an unique opportunity to see a different point of view
of our job. It is also a good opportunity to have a lot of fun...
And remember we are coming from Bordeaux, France, the land of
the most renowned Red Wine in the World.
And we have some good things in our luggage :-)
Fourth: We have a solid experience of using LW (and Imagine) in a
professionnal environment. If you need someone for the summer
(for example: your 3d artist is on hollyday, or you have a very BIG
job to do...) for working in 3D, in video,...: We are here! The only
contribution we are asking for is a place to sleep, and some
food (and, if you want, a rented car).
Fifth: Anyone in L.A. with a big house, a Porshe (or may be a Ferrari),
some Raptor III, lot of money, can lend us all those things for
two weeks. *;-)
One of this proposition is a joke... guess which ?
If you want more information about the computer artist kids and the
"Merlin Project" (an interactive adventure in the land of Merlin, designed by
kids) email to me: bugss@frbdx11.cribx1.u-bordeaux.fr or to: gue@alterm.com
see you later at SIGGRAPH...
please, reply by email at bugss@frbdx11.cribx1.u-bordeaux.fr or to the
Lightwave Mailing List, or send me a regular mail to the address above:
